Background
Mission, History, Clients
The Institutes mission is to support thriving hospitals that create value for all stakeholders by integrating emotional intelligence into the organizational climate.
Six Seconds is a nonprofit organization founded in 1997 and dedicated to bringing emotional intelligence into practice in schools, organizations, and communities. From 1967-1997, under the leadership of our Chairman and former nurse Karen McCown, our team created a Federal Blue Ribbon school where emotional intelligence was a key component. Since then, we've applied our learning process in a wide variety of organizational settings, including behavioral healthcare and hotels. We've delivered EQ certification training to over 500 professionals from six continents, and led four NexusEQ Conferences, the premier global emotional intelligence summit.
Six Seconds created the Institute for Healthcare Leadership to address the growing need of health care leaders and hospitals to create engaging, sustainable and thriving organizational climates where employees and management can devote their energies and resources for obtaining outstanding results for all stakeholders.
