A cost effective, research-driven program in three managable stages.

A customized program of assessment, training, and coaching services tailored to each hospital’s requirements. Based on the latest research Six Seconds has designed a phased approach to addressing the problems of retention, employee satisfaction, and performance improvement.
Rather than working on symptoms, we help you measure and then address the root causes of professional staff turnover. Our research in many kinds of organizations has demonstrated that the relationship between individual and organization can be improved with fairly simple training and systems. We begin by measuring the organizational climate and linking that data to your existing performance metrics (such as turnover, sales, productivity, and customer satisfaction). Then, we provide a combination of training and systems improvement to address underlying issues affecting the climate.

Our process is flexible and is designed to efficiently work with small teams in brief sessions. It is also built in phases -- you only continue if the approach proves valuable. The process typically includes:

Phase 1 - Climate Research -- Assessment and Awareness (2 weeks). Using our online organizational climate survey, your team quickly gains invaluable insight into the organizational climate and learns how emotional intelligence is key to improving it. With valuable results, you move into a pilot project with Phase 2.

Phase 2 - Targeted Relationship and EQ Training -- Implementing Change (90 days) -- a pilot group of nurse managers and directors engage in a series of trainings and data tracking to begin a shift toward an improved climate. This process includes additional research to link specific leadership behaviors to bottom-line outcomes and critical leading indicators. Once the process yields bottom-line value, you continue to Phase 3.

Phase 3 - Improved Workplace Climate -- Sustaining Change. To build on the successes in Phase 2 and to sustain improvements made in internal systems and processes, we provide customized capacity-building training and systems consulting. Focused by Phase 1 research, this phase is designed to have maximum impact and results in retention, satisfaction and climate improvement.
